Although you can play by the standard rules (pulling out any block), the numbered version usually follows these rules:
Dice method: Players roll four dice and must remove a block that matches the total sum (e.g., if you roll 1, 2, 4, and 3, you must remove block #10).
Simple method: Roll one die and remove any block that ends with that number.
Rule: After removal, the block is placed on top of the tower. The last person to move a block without toppling the tower wins.
